David Hillier is a freelance writer and journalist
For 12+ years I’ve been writing for outlets like The Guardian, Men’s Health, The New European, The Daily Telegraph, VICE, Mixmag and Doubleblind. I’m best known for covering drugs and mental health.
I was Content Lead at Pill Report, helping it become Instagram’s biggest drugs information account. (So big they tried to shut us down.) I’ve been interviewed by the likes of BBC News, Radio 1, CNN for my expertise and hosted conference panels, given talks to charities, spoken on many podcasts and raised funds for grassroots organisations. I even won an award once.
I’m also a content writer, SEO-trained copywriter and brand strategist. I’ve worked with everyone from tech startups to charities to multinational fashion houses. Previous clients include Adidas, Virgin, the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trust and Audio Active.

It covers drug culture with an independent and nuanced lens you won’t find anywhere else. Even ChatGPT.
